forget the trick, just treat

It's Halloween! I dug out Lily's little ghost collar and we took her out for a stroll. Not too many people are into it over here like in Canada, but we did see quite a few little kiddies dressed up. Lily loved all the attention her coller got her; lots of pats. Her collar even scored us each a sucker! Thanks Lil!

I find myself very interested in DIY projects for the home and found a few that I plan to try out in the next few weeks. I think we will appreciate and enjoy the hand-made (hopefully successful) projects more than if we bought everything. I decided to clean up and re-use a glass maple syrup bottle as a small vase. I found some letters last week from Typo and finally put something on our bare hutch (I still have more plans for it). Along our walk today I picked up a few natural odds and ends that I thought would suit the little bottle. I would like to get some actual flowers for it but unfortunately, for what reason, I'm not sure, 99.99999% of stores in Brisbane close during the week at 5pm, including our local florist. I'll pay them a visit on Saturday. And please excuse the cranked-up ISO :s

in the garden

Just a couple of pictures I took of the garden blooming in the backyard.
